The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta's Morgan Fund was established
in May of 2003 to help individuals, corporations and foundations respond
to the charitable needs of Morgan County residents. In partnership with
neighboring Newton County, the Morgan Fund works to foster and promote local philanthropy.
Serving as a pool of charitable funds, the Morgan Fund offers ease, convenience
and expertise for donors who wish to make charitable contributions to
nonprofit organizations in and around Morgan County. Through a variety
of funds and options, we help donors leave a legacy that can benefit our
community for generations to come.
The Morgan Fund offers donors tax advantages, expert investing, anonymity (if desired) and a thorough
understanding of Morgan County’s nonprofit community.
Our goals include:
- promoting visionary philanthropy
- building and preserving a collection of endowment funds and
- distributing funds to nonprofit organizations that serve Morgan County
residents.
What programs do we support?
Through generous contributions from local donors
as well as matching dollars from The Community Foundation, the Morgan
Fund offers a competitive grants program from our unrestricted funds available to Morgan-based
nonprofit agencies. Annual grants from this program are awarded via a
competitive process to help qualified Morgan nonprofit organizations meet
the changing needs of the Morgan County community. The deadline for 2007
has passed. The next grant cycle is July 2008, the application and guidelines
will be posted in spring 2008.
