From the banks of the Chattahoochee River and the burgeoning “Edge-City”
of the Cobb-Galleria area north to the historic charms of Marietta, Kennesaw,
Acworth and Lake Allatoona...and from the rural areas of West Cobb to
the busy neighborhoods and shops of East Cobb, our county presents diverse
challenges, blended populations and untapped strengths.
The Community Foundation for Cobb County (TCFCC), a Local Fund of The
Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, Inc. (TCF), was established
in 1993 to help individuals and organizations respond to the charitable
needs of Cobb County residents through the creation of permanent endowment
funds managed by a team of professional investment advisors. Through these
funds we help donors link their charitable interests to a variety of important
community needs.
We serve as the charitable giving partner for many living donors and
their families and work with them to meet their philanthropic goals with
flexible, tax-efficient options, services and resources. We are ready
to work with you and your financial advisor to meet your needs while building
effective philanthropy in Cobb County.
What programs do we support?
Qualified nonprofit organizations in Cobb County
can apply for grants from TCF’s Competitive
Grants Program. Grants awarded from these funds support organizations
working in the following areas:
- Arts
- Civic Affairs
- Community Development
- Education
- Health
- Human Resources
Additional Funding
Through the generous contributions from local donors, The Community Foundation
for Cobb County qualified for and was awarded a “Challenge Grant” from
TCF for the calendar year 2005. Grants from these funds will beawarded
via a competitive process to help qualified Newton nonprofit organizations
meet the changing needs of the Cobb County community. The 2005 deadline
has passed. The 2006 deadline will be announced in the near future.
