Teachers Grants Program
In 2001, the Foundation launched the Teachers Grants Program with $10,000 from
a donor interested in education. Donor participation has increased as a result
of the program's success.
Purpose
The grants are made directly to classroom teachers for innovative instructional
projects, which support Project GRAD Atlanta's Success for All Reading Program.
Eligibility
Grant applications must be made by a certified instructional staff member in the Project GRAD cluster. School principals must sign off on all grant applications. Instructional support personnel, parents, business or community members may partner in the proposed project.
Range of Funding
Grants of up to $500 may be requested. In selected cases, where there are multiple partners, grants in excess of $500 will be considered.
Priorities
- Projects that have a direct impact on Success for All reading-curriculum objectives.
- Projects that demonstrate creativity and enhancement of the learning process.
- Projects that demonstrate an anticipated impact on the school, students or community.
- Projects that include the direct involvement of students.
