Neighborhood Fund
Since 1991, the Neighborhood Fund has recognized that all neighborhoods have leaders,
assets and resources. The goal of the Neighborhood Fund is to build the capacity
of residents to become empowered to improve the quality of their communities.
Instead of focusing on deficiencies, the Neighborhood Fund works to provide comprehensive
supports that help residents and neighborhood groups organize around their strengths
and assets. These supports include grants, technical assistance, and leadership
development
Grant Materials and Due Dates

2008 Neighborhood Fund Leadership Institute
The Neighborhood Fund Leadership Institute provides leadership development
for emerging leaders who reside within The Community Foundation's 23-county service
area. The principles and framework of the Leadership Institute curriculum were created in cooperation
with the University of Georgia's Fanning Institute for Leadership. The curriculum
includes sessions such as Project Planning, Volunteer Recruitment, and Community
Organizing. Residents are strongly encouraged to use their Leadership Training
in their respective community work along with grants and technical assistance
from the Neighborhood Fund.
